Graphically, ICARUS is simply gorgeous. The game builds on Unreal Engine and presents environments to behold: forests, snowy mountain ranges bonfires on the ice sure… deserts blazing hot. The dynamic weather systems and properly implemented day-night cycle give each expedition a twist, as no two expeditions provided are exactly the same. The sound design adds on really well, distant animal roars, howling winds and the silence before a storm is about to hit leaving you on edge. From hunting for food or hiding from a predator, and the typical survival experience of just trying not bezed when your dropship arrives, there’s no letting down of pressure in that ambiance.
